Games Aid

A modern, engaging website to increase participation in this membership organisation’s mission to support exceptional charitable causes

When Games Aid, a leading membership organisation in the charity sector, approached us about developing a new website, we immediately recognised the opportunity to support their mission of channelling the video games industry's goodwill toward exceptional charitable causes. Their impactful work made this project particularly meaningful for our team.

Our vision extended beyond creating just another website – we aimed to forge a lasting partnership with this inspirational charity. The goal was to deliver a modern, engaging online experience that would not only enhance their digital presence but serve as a catalyst for increased support and participation. However, we understand that in today's digital landscape, aesthetic appeal and user-friendliness aren't enough; accessibility needs to be at the forefront of design.

During our brand discovery phase, we identified a critical accessibility issue with Games Aid's original colour scheme. Their use of green and red created significant challenges for colour-blind and sight-impaired users, failing to meet essential contrast ratios for legibility. We addressed this by carefully adjusting the palette to pink and green, ensuring the website would be truly accessible to all users – a crucial consideration given Games Aid's mission to empower children and young people.

The result is a website that Games Aid can proudly share with their community. Our thoughtful design approach, combined with seamless technology, has created an intuitive navigation experience that drives event participation and strengthens their communication capabilities. Most importantly, it helps the charity achieve its ultimate goal: raising more money for people in need.

This project held special significance for our team, as we developed the website voluntarily on Games Aid's behalf. Under the guidance of our Creative Director Paul Sheffield, we maintained our commitment to delivering beautiful design underpinned by robust technical foundations, ensuring both usability and feasibility. The Games Aid website stands as a testament to this philosophy, and we take pride in continuing to support their team as they make a difference in the gaming industry and beyond.
