This year, our ongoing collaboration with Welcome to Wandsworth and Wandsworth Council has taken us to some unforgettable creative milestones.

The highlight? Not once, but twice, lighting up Europe’s biggest digital screen – the legendary Piccadilly Lights in the heart of London.

A Landmark Year: London Borough of Culture

2025 is no ordinary year for Wandsworth. As the London Borough of Culture, the borough has been celebrating with a packed programme of events, exhibitions, and activities designed to showcase diversity, creativity, and community spirit.

Wandsworth's win offered opportunities to scale up the branding and website projects we already had underway for Welcome to Wandsworth - ready to match this new status.

February: Celebrating the Borough of Culture Launch

Our first Piccadilly Lights takeover came in February, celebrating the start of Wandsworth’s year as London Borough of Culture. For five minutes, the screen glowed with bold, vibrant colours and messaging that set the tone for an unforgettable year ahead.

Pedestrians stopped in their tracks, and the borough’s brand reached one of the busiest public spaces in Europe – transforming the moment into a powerful cultural statement.

Wandsworth's Year as London Borough of Culture

We're here to show off our work on the Piccadilly screen, but with a partnership as collaborative as ours with Wandsworth Council and a year as dynamic as Wandsworth's year as London Borough of Culture, there's much more to celebrate.

You'll have to read our latest case study for all of the details, but let's share some of the highlights:

  • The huge success of the Welcome to Wandsworth website, with a 165% monthly increase in traffic
  • The Summer of Festivals campaign saw our designs on posters from the TFL London underground to the streets of London
  • Shining the spotlight on Wandsworth Arts Fringe with posters, brochures, and fresh website functionality - resulting in 130% more engagement on event detail pages

September: Showcasing A Year For Everyone

Fast forward to autumn, and we returned to Piccadilly Lights for the second takeover of the year. Welcome to Wandsworth’s Autumn campaign celebrated A Year For Everyone: a chance to highlight the joy, inclusion, accessibility, and participation sparked by their year as London Borough of Culture so far.

Watching London’s iconic canvas come alive once again with Wandsworth’s brand was another proud moment for our team – and our design team made the trip to see their hard work’s success in person!

Creative Collaboration

Projects of this scale are only possible through strong partnerships. A huge thanks to our friends at Box Animation Studio, whose production expertise helped bring our designs to life on a massive scale. And of course, to Wandsworth Council, for trusting us to help tell their story in bold and meaningful ways.

The year isn’t over yet. With more exciting projects on the horizon, we can’t wait to see where this collaboration takes us next.
