Brighton Festival

Continuous creative flair for England's largest arts festival.

Brighton Festival has been a cultural cornerstone since 1967, growing into the South East’s largest curated festival. Every year, it brings together tens of thousands of attendees and hundreds of freelance artists for a celebration of creativity. Grandad’s partnership with the Festival began in 2011, and since then, we’ve evolved their website annually to reflect new themes, ensuring a fresh, engaging experience for visitors.

The website is designed to adapt effortlessly to the festival’s seasonal rhythm. During the event, it serves as a dynamic hub for schedules, ticket sales, and artist showcases. In the off-season, it remains an evergreen platform, maintaining engagement and anticipation for the next festival. This seamless shift requires minimal intervention, allowing the Festival team to focus on delivering an unforgettable event rather than managing a complex digital infrastructure.

To further enhance the user experience, we integrated the Audience View ticketing system, streamlining the purchase journey so visitors can book tickets without leaving the site. This frictionless approach supports the Festival’s mission of accessibility and ease, ensuring that audiences can fully immerse themselves in the experience.

Even in 2021, with audience numbers impacted by the pandemic, the refreshed site proved its value. Engagement soared, with a 57% decrease in bounce rate and a 66% increase in session duration. As Brighton Festival continues to grow, its website remains a vital tool—driving engagement, supporting revenue generation, and connecting audiences with the full spectrum of events in the heart of the city.
