Boom Beach: Frontlines - the new combat strategy game by Space Ape - was soft launched in Canada with a newly-designed online creative delivered by Grandad.
Frontlines is a fast-paced, team-based shooter and a brand new way to play in Supercell's mega-hit Boom Beach universe. Jump into epic multiplayer battles with new troops, new defenses, and a fresh take on mobile battlers.
The site needed to effortlessly communicate the games’ new offerings whilst utilising the game's assets and a dynamic interface to generate excitement and intrigue around the game. It also needed to support heavy traffic, innovative animation and a multi-device display.
Location, Location, Location
The initial aspect we had to consider was the geography of the launch. Space Ape needed a site which had the hosting structure in place to provide the right content for the right country. Like we did with their other product, Beatstar, we chose to use YouCreate - the Grandad made CMS, to build the site with full flexibility for both the Space Ape team and Boom Beach gamers, regardless of their location.
A motion picture
To truly bring the game to life, the Grandad design team worked in partnership with the Boom Beach art team to create an immersive visual experience which would generate excitement and communicate the action-packed nature of the game.
A combination of crisp graphics and clever animation creates a site which moves fluidly as the user scrolls through the page. Our design team worked to ideate and implement different digital elements which would add depth and dimension to the Boom Beach assets and present them in the best possible way to the site user by considering colour and animation style, providing them with an online experience beyond the ordinary.
Getting gamers going
Impactful CTA’s are utilised throughout the site to encourage users to get involved with launch, by pre-registering to be notified when the game is available. At the end of the site, users are encouraged to visit the game’s social media profiles to stay up to date with the game’s launch.
We loved getting to flex our creativity for this project and can’t wait to see the impact it has on Boom Beach’s success.
